ScotiaBank's Hockey Day in Canada festival is drawing hockey fans from across the country to Whitehorse to celebrate their love of the game. The annual event began with the unveiling of a Yukon hockey history exhibit at the Macbride Museum. This will be followed by a week full of hockey games and family fun, which will culminate with a daylong hockey news broadcast via CBC. The marathon broadcast from Whitehorse will be hosted by sportscaster Ron MacLean.
A major part of the news broadcast will focus on how individuals and communities express their love for the game, with a special highlight on minor league hockey stories from across the country. Hockey is a uniquely Canadian passion and as a sport really defines the nation.
