Bluefield College in Southwest Virginia is hosting a free digital photography workshop called "Digital Photography's Broad Spectrum: A Discussion with Hal Brainerd". This workshop will feature dialogue and demonstrations by Hal Brainerd, who has been a professional photographer since 1969 and has won several awards for his work. His career spans stints in military and commercial photography, and his work has been published in several magazines, as well as exhibited in various galleries throughout the country.
During the workshop, topics discussed will include the capabilities of digital photography, including how to create panoramic murals. It will also tech you about virtual drawing through software like Photoshop. Also the process of painting images on monitors with electronic brushes and color. According to Brainerd, a major drawback of digital photography in the past was the limited range of light that could be captured. Advanced high dynamic range technology now allows us to capture a much wider range.
