Anyone can be a painter. The Community Classroon in Abington, Pennsylvania will host "Learning Folk Art Painting" with Cheryl Kolb and "The Artist's Way" with Cathy McAndrews. Kolb has been painting for more than 20 years, and she works mainly with acrylic paints. Students are asked to bring their own canvas, brushes and paints, which can be acrylic or oils.
The month long course will cost $60 for one 2hr class each week. While Kolb's class is focused on teaching the steps of painting, McAndrews' class "The Artist's Way" is about helping students gain the focus they need to begin the process. The course is based on a Julia Cameron book of the same name, and McAndrews works through the readings and exercises from the book with the class to help motivate and inspire students. McAndrews said that the class is useful not only for artists but for everyone who is trying to find more clarity and time to reach their goals.
